Enders Games Chapter 6-8

1. The purpose of the Giant's Drink was to see how the different soldiers deal with different types of deaths.  ender thought he was going to die, but he figured out the rigged game.  He knew all those ' drinks would kill him.  Ender should really be proud of himself.  He outsmarted the military.  Ender is definitely not a murder.  He killed imaginary people and the difference of a real human and an imaginary one is completely different.

2. Alai and Ender have been forming a new friendship that is pretty strong. Alai said “Salaam” which is a sign of respect and a well wishing to Ender.  He kissed him on the cheek too. Alai told him that they were “always friends, the best of friends”  and I think this is really good because it is like the first true friend Ender has had at Battle School. This is very important because even though he technically a soldier, he is still just a little boy and he needs friends who he can count on at that age, especially if he isn’t with his family.

3. "Just Living" means living a normal life.  Ender has definitely hasn't lived the average life where he he could go to school and walk around without the government watching him and without a brother that would support him.  Ender just wants the success out of his life.  The main thing is ender doesn't want to be anything like Peter.  Ender is scared he will become a mean and violent person.  He would much rather be a nice and supportive person like valentine.  If I was ender I would be depressed.  I think if I were Ender, that I would feel just like him; wanting a normal life but having to deal with the situation he has been put in.

4. Pertra helped Ender by being his friend and helping him with his battle moves. She taught him how to keep his arm steady while shooting and they started spending a lot of time together.  Pertra showed Ender that not everyone at Battle School despised him and that not everyone was mean. She showed this by saying that they should be friends(79). This his a hinderance to Ender because Ender wants to fit in at Battle School and to be liked. But Perta isn't the most popular of people and is actually disliked. Yet Ender still wants to have a friendship with her.

5. Bonzo is really stuck up and thinks he’s the best.  I think what Ender has learned from Bonzo is how NOT to act as a leader. If you want people to follow your orders and be able to boss them around a little then you have to gain their respect. Ender thinks of Bonzo as an “ass” Ender had been capable of more things in the battles and Bonzo told him not to shoot. How is Ender supposed to learn anything if his “boss” tells him not to practice? When Bonzo trades him to Rat, he gives him, some strong punches and hurts him. This is not a trait Ender would ever want to pick up either.

6. " Ender Wiggn is ten times smarter and stronger than I am" I think this quote means that Graff thinks Ender is stronger than him emotionally and physically. He can see that even as a 6 year old he can hide his emotions remarkably well. He left his family and everybody he knows to go to a school where he will be pushed to extremes”.

7. The significance of the quote “So teach me.” “So learn.” is that Ender needs learn by looking at what everybody else is doing.  Ender is the social person so he doesn’t have people that would go out of their way and use up their time to help Ender.  I guess it means that Ender has to work a little bit harder to be at the level he should be.

8. Ender’s response to an attack is so significant because when he attacked the older boys he does things differently.  He knows what to do in zero gravity and he analyzes things better and differently.  This is what makes him stand out for the better.

9. I think the snake reflection of Peter represented that it was something Peter would have done. When Ender beats up the snake, he really beats it up. Ender sees the reflection and doesn’t like it because he knows that Peter was brutal and he doesn’t want to become that.

10. The game knows because it is created by the adults of the Battle School and the adults know that Ender has potential to be a great asset to them so they want to through things at him that make him think outside the box. They knew that Ender and Peter had problems and once he beat the game they wanted to make it difficult and see how he would deal with his problem.

11. This is a sad paragraph that is almost suicidal, like Ender was giving up who he was for the benefit of being a tool for someone else. He doesn’t care that he hates the part about him that they want to see from him." He doesn't care that he died he's happy that he was killed. Ender is falling into the deep dark state of depression
